Deep hole drilling is a machining technique specifically designed for deep holes with a depth-to-diameter ratio (L/D) of ≥10 (typically ranging from 10 to 100, though in specialized applications this can exceed 200). Its primary objective is to address critical challenges inherent in deep hole machining—such as difficulties in chip evacuation, poor heat dissipation, and the difficulty of maintaining dimensional accuracy and straightness.
